Who is Scholarship Management Services?

Scholarship Management Services is a division of Scholarship America, headquartered in Saint Peter, Minnesota. We design and manage scholarship and other education assistance programs for corporations, foundations and individuals.

Why outsource management of a program?

Outsourcing a program saves you money and time so you can focus your resources on your core business. Often, employers find themselves saying they can’t afford to offer an education assistance program to their employees. However, once employers realize the benefits they receive in return, they find themselves saying they can’t afford not to offer one.

  • Recruitment - Offering an education assistance program is an excellent way to promote your company in today’s competitive job market.

  • Retention – A program can develop a sense of loyalty to your company, significantly reducing recruitment and training costs.

  • Productivity - Allowing employees to expand their knowledge will increase your company’s productivity with more satisfied, productive workers. Employees can use the knowledge they’ve gained to find new and more efficient ways of doing their work.

  • Social Responsibility – When offering education assistance programs, companies receive a number of benefits while making a positive impact in their communities by investing in America’s future.

  • Cost Savings - The cost savings in recruitment and retention are significant; however, there are also tax benefits to offering education assistance programs. Your company will also see the savings in significantly reduced internal administrative costs.

Who can sponsor a program?

Many different types of program sponsors provide scholarships including companies, membership organizations, private foundations, community foundations and individuals. We work with all types of sponsors.

Yes. Many of the programs administered by Scholarship Management Services include children of international employees. We have experience working with applications from nearly 80 countries.

Our company is small. Can we give an award to every applicant?

When awards are given to every applicant, they are viewed as taxable compensation to the employee. Some companies provide education assistance to all applicants on a non-competitive basis. One of our representatives will assist you in establishing an education assistance program.
